I’m totally new to the electric car thing. So not really sure where to start. What are the best entry level electric cars out there? Range isn’t a big issue for me as I very rarely drive long distances
Hi A Rod, if you mean a normal EV (electric car) cheapest is I'd say a Nissan Leaf which are circa £5500 from a garage for a 2013 ish with under 70,000 miles. They start with 124 miles range when new. Well depending on how you drive, how much you use your heating and how cold it is. After 7 years use a half decent battery will still have 75 miles range. The battery packs on a leaf aren't the best out there like Tesla batteries due to the chemistry and not being cooled. You can replace batteries and upgrade, but not at a dealer, at a specialist. I have details if people need.If you mean a converted EV aka used to be ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). I have only seen ones starting from aboit £35k.A company i came across do an old classic Beetle for £47k.You've given me a great idea to find and list all of the ones available.Lastly you might find some homemade conversions, I'd suggest asking questions about it on the forum before you part with cash to make sure its safe, road worthy and worth the money. But in truth those type of cars are hard to value.I hope this helps 👍
I saw a recent video for this on new EV's you can buy it was on car wow. They took into consideration the price of the car and the range it has. The Renault Zoe came top and the VW ID3 came second. I will dig out the video and post it.
Here it is, or did you mean an Electrified ICE conversion?
